Dog Friendly Accommodation in The Peak District
As a dog-friendly campsite in the Peak District, we know how important it is to bring along your dearly beloved canine family members. Camping and glamping with your dog and exploring the great outdoors together can be one of the very best experiences to share with your four-legged friend. We have a dog walk and dog exercise field with spectacular views at our dog-friendly holiday park and there are lots of great Peak District dog walks nearby.
- 2 'well behaved’ dogs allowed in our dog-friendly lodges Peak District for a cleaning charge of £40 per dog per week (£25 for short breaks)
- 2 'well behaved’ dogs allowed in our dog-friendly caravan homes with hot tub for a cleaning charge of £40 per dog per week (£25 for short breaks)
- 1 'well behaved’ dog allowed in our dog-friendly Peak District glamping pod for a cleaning charge of £10 per stay
- Up to 2 'well behaved' dogs per camping or touring pitch free of charge
What we ask of all dog owners:
- All dogs must be kept on a short lead or be tethered at all times whilst on site unless in the dog exercise field
- Please clean up after your dog at all times even in the dog exercise field
- Please do not allow your dog to be a nuisance to other guests
- Dogs should be healthy (vaccinated), socialised and obedient
- No dangerous breeds please
- Please never leave them alone in any Longnor Wood accommodation, even if that is your own tent, caravan or motorhome, for an unfamiliar setting could force them to become distressed and/or a nuisance to other guests
- Small charge for your pets (£10 per stay glamping and £40 per week per dog in a dog-friendly holiday lodge or static caravan)
If these important rules are not adhered to, then you will be asked to leave the site.
Local dog walks
Longnor Wood is located next to a small wood owned by the National Park. Generally this wood is open for walkers and where guests regularly exercise their pets but it may be closed at times for tree felling works. We also have a large field with spectacular views where you can let your dog off the lead. There are a number of walks directly from the site, including one to the nearby small village of Longnor, and our wardens can advise. Please note when walking through fields that dogs should be kept on a short lead at all times and owners should take special note during lambing or calfing season.
Ask our site wardens to recommend dog-friendly places to eat in the Peak District. There are a number of nearby village pubs serving great food that welcome dogs including The Pack Horse Inn Crowdicote (2.5 miles) and The Royal Oak, Hurdlow (4.5 miles).
Unsure what to pack for your dog on their trip to Longnor Wood Hideaway? We've put together a handy checklist here!
"Lovely dog field which is especially welcome for furry friends who can run in a safe environment."
