There are so many famous Peak District landmarks and picturesque villages to choose from and you will need a car to explore from our adults only UK holiday park. Why not have a read of our BLOG of the 10 must-see sights. 

The most popular towns and villages are Buxton, Bakewell (home of the Bakewell tart) and Matlock which all boast a wide range of amenities but there are many more picturesque villages worth a stop off. There are not many campsites in Buxton and Longnor Wood is just a 20-minute drive from this beautiful spa town.

In terms of Peak District campsites near pubs, Longnor Wood is blessed with a huge variety of country pubs serving great food and real ale, all just a short drive away. In addition, we sell a selection of Peak District ales in our small on-site licensed shop. Here are some of our favourite Peak District gastro pubs: 

Peak District Walks 

For the more energetic the Peak District is blessed with amazing walks for all abilities. Close to our Peak District campsite are a number of old railway tracks that have been converted into beautiful trails to both walk and cycle off-road. This includes the Manifold Trail, Tissington Trail and Longnor Wood is an ideal campsite near the Monsal Trail. Dovedale is also a popular spot for a Sunday afternoon stroll. For more experienced hikers why not tackle Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill from Earl Sterndale, Stanage Edge, Kinder Scout or Mam Tor and the Great Ridge? All have beautiful views from the summit. Stargazing in the Peak District
