We are a dog-friendly touring park and there is a large dog walk and exercise field with amazing views at the entrance to our Peak District holiday park. Longnor Wood adjoins the campsite and is perfect for dog-walking if you want to let your dog off the lead. There are also plenty of dog walks locally although caution should be exercised at certain times of year when there are livestock about. Dogs must be on a short lead at all times when on the touring park and never left in your accommodation on their own.

Your Surrounding area

Longnor Wood is located in a peaceful rural location in the Heart of the Peak District. A car is strongly advised if you are staying with us at Longnor Wood. The small village of Longnor is around a 2-mile walk across open countryside and would not be recommended after dark. The narrow roads are unlit and there are no pavements and so we would not recommend guests to walk into the village along the roads.

The nearest train station is Buxton, a 20-minute drive from Longnor Wood.   Having your own transport is always an advantage when camping near Buxton if you want to make the most of the beautiful Peak District countryside and visit local attractions such as Chatsworth Estate, Heights of Abraham, Buxton caverns or Haddon Hall, as well as being convenient for bringing all your camping essentials.
